Description: DATE: 25TH APRIL 2025 EVENT: Disaster Awareness Week THEME / TOPIC: Disaster Management CLASS & SECTION: Prep- 5 LEARNING OUTCOMES: 1. Students will be able to identify designated safety spots in the school during a fire emergency. 2. Students will be able to understand the step-by-step actions to take in case of a fire, ensuring their safety and the safety of others. 3. Students will be able to gain confidence in responding calmly and responsibly during emergency situations through mock fire drill experience. The evacuation plan was displayed on the smart board and explained thoroughly to all students to ensure they understood the route and procedures in case of a fire emergency. To reinforce this, a mock drill was conducted where students practiced how to line up quickly, stay calm, and follow the designated path to reach their assigned safety zones. Each class teacher played an active role in leading and supervising her students throughout the process, providing clear instructions and support. During the drill, special emphasis was placed on educating students about the essential do’s and don’ts during a fire emergency—for instance, avoiding panic, not using elevators, covering their mouths to avoid smoke inhalation, and listening carefully to instructions. The drill aimed to build confidence and preparedness, ensuring that students know how to respond swiftly and safely in the event of a real emergency.
