Description: From the wise words of Louis Pasteur, “Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity and it is the torch which illuminates the world.” A Seminar on Dr. Ruchi Ram Sahani against superstitions was held on 16th May 2023. Prof. Jayanti Dutta and Dr. Arvind Garg enlightened the students about the benefits of scientific knowledge in today’s world, dispelling baseless superstitions. By giving example of Dr. Ruchi Ram Sahani, they urged the students not to blindly believe in superstitions. The speakers encouraged the students to spread his ideology of using scientific methods in their lives. They also expounded on how his contributions had helped to lay the foundation for the development of modern science and rationalism in India. Dr. Arvind also highlighted a key concern in the scientific community which being that the Indian Scientists’ efforts are often disregarded by the layman due to lack of sensitization.
