Description: St. John's High School organized its annual Senior School Sports Day on 9th November. Held on the school grounds, the event brought together students, faculty, and families in a vibrant display of sporting talent and achievement. The esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament- Chandigarh, graced the occasion and inspired students with his words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and unity in sports and life.
The day featured an action-packed lineup of events, including thrilling Track and Field Races, an impressive Equestrian Display, as well as Shooting and Archery demonstrations. The NCC and class contingents presented a brilliant march past, setting a tone of discipline and pride. The vibrant class drills and mass drill, complete with four human pyramids, exemplified the strength of teamwork and the students’ commitment to collective excellence. The Sports Day was made even more special with the presence of alumni from the Silver and Golden Jubilee batches, who enthusiastically joined the students in a symbolic march, rekindling old memories and inspiring current students. Another special race run alongside Johnians was by the students of Vatika, GRIID( Govt. Rehabilitation Inst. for the Intellectually Disabled and Sarvani ( NGO).
House teams competed with zeal for top honours, displaying speed, endurance, and teamwork. The prestigious award for Best House was won by Br. Morrissey House.
The Sports Day celebrations were not only a platform to encourage athleticism but also to foster a spirit of camaraderie and community. The Headmistress delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of everyone involved in making the event a success. The day concluded with an awards ceremony to recognize and honour the outstanding achievements of the students, making it a memorable day for all in attendance.
