EVENT: Celebration through activities
THEME/ TOPIC: International Girl child Day
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students learnt about inclusion, respect and compassion for the Girl Child
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: St. John’s High School celebrated the International Day of Girl Child by organizing a number of activities in the school. Students made creative posters and wrote slogans promoting the inclusion of the girl child in every sphere of life as equals. Students showed their solidarity about this and promised to respect, support and be compassionate to the needs and dignity of others. Students expressed their support and admiration for girls and women, they wore pink dupattas and turbans, demonstrating that boys can play a vital role in the movement for women's and children's rights. A survey was also conducted in collaboration with the Social Justice Club of the school which is working on the theme of Gender Equality, Sustainable Development Goals. The survey had questions related to Empowering Girl Child and maintaining an Equitable Society. Responses were discussed in the class and were reflected upon by the students.
